Extracurricular activities
At St. Kilian’s students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular and co-curricular activities to broaden and enrich their school experiences. Our aim is to enable all our students to fulfil their potential and to take their place in an ever changing world. This aim permeates all aspects of school life. In addition to Music, Drama, Art and Sport there is a huge range of extracurricular activities on offer. These include many clubs and societies, some run by the students themselves. We run a wide programme of trips in Ireland and to other destinations. A full list of extracurricular will be available at the beginning of the academic year.
Charity Initiatives
Each year group has a charity representative, whose duties include liaising with peers, coming up with ideas, helping to organise events and collecting the money raised. The events are great fun and also help the students develop organisational skills, build up confidence and provide a huge sense of achievement.
Gaisce Awards
The President’s Award is Ireland’s National Challenge Award, the country’s most prestigious and respected individual award programme, and a challenge from the President of Ireland, to young people of Ireland. Students take part in activities as diverse as kayaking, walking, camping, team building, and map reading training. Afterschool
