Exams
The school reports issued to students who attend the Sek-I stream at St. Kilian’s German School are recognised by the Kultusministerkonferenz (Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs). In the second half of 10th class (Transition Year) students sit examinations and write centralised tests (Klassenarbeiten) which will lead to recognised German school completion exams/qualifications. Students have the opportunity to achieve a German Mittlerer Schulabschluss and/or the entitlement to enter the final two years of the German school system which leads to the completion of the Abitur (equivalent of the Irish Leaving Certificate).
Further information about the German school exams offered by St. Kilian’s in the Sek-I stream and the possible transfer into the final phase of the Gymnasium curriculum in Germany are available on the website of the Kultusministerkonferenz.
