Match Report
Wednesday 04/10/2017 – Minor Boys Away v Mount Temple
Our minor boys drew 0-0 with Mount Temple in their first league game. We dominated at the back and in midfield but Mount Temples rear guard stood up and kept us at bay.
We played some excellent hockey and really should have won. Jake Nourse led the team in midfield ably assisted by Jake Dempsey and Cian Walley. At the back Sweeper Rod McCauliff was calling the shots. Centre back Mark Donovan had his hands full with a lively centre forward. Right back Michael Brennan was drilling balls down the line while left back Louis Prehn was tying up the right wing. Daniel Sheeran had only one serious save to make so good was our back four. Up front Edward de Bono, Cian Griffith and and Hugh Harnett. did their best to break down the Mount Temple defence. Oisin Wynne, Cian Brennan and Thomas O’Grady came on and played their part. We played some great hockey moving the ball around the pitch but just could not get the breakthrough goal to seal a deserved win.
Final Score Mount Temple: 0, St. Kilian’s: 0
Man of the Match Mark Donovan who had a controlled game at centre back. Just pipping Jake Nourse and Jake Dempsey and Rod McAuliffe
