Double Delight for Hugh sinks Wesley BOur minor boys had to dig deep to come up with two gems to defeat a very robust and strong Wesley B team 2-0.
This was an excellent performance all round by the boys as Wesley put up a strong robust defence. Their goalkeeper was in great form making a couple of saves to deny Ben McTiernan. Our back five Louis Prehn, Rod McCauliff, Mark Donoghue, Michael Brennan and Goal keeper Daniel Sheeran are like the Great Wall of China. You have to go a long way to get around them! They have only conceded 2 goals in four games to date. Our midfield led by Captain fantastic Jake Nourse who had a great physical battle with his opposite number never got ruffled and produced an outstanding display. He was ably assisted by Jake Dempsey who makes great runs and Cian Walley who is a very strong left midfielder. Up front Ben McTiernan tests every centre back and sweeper to the limit and it’s very rare for him not to score. Hugh Harnett gave a great display at left wing and scored two little gems to win the game for us. Cian Griffiths also did his bit as did all the squad. Well Done Boys !

Goal of the match: Any one of Hugh’s two as both were brill. Just pipping Captain Jake Nourse and Michael Brennan.
