The Plastic Duck soccer tournament is open to those who have attended football in UCD on Friday or after-school training on Tuesday. The tournament will commence at 1.15pm and conclude at 2.45pm.

101 students competed in the 3rd Plastic Duck TournamentThe combined Spain/France team, captained by James Murphy (12th) and Hugo Sabella (7th) overcame the North West Europe team captained by Conor Donohoe (12th) and Isaac Nugent (8th). Goals from Marti Marti Gomez and Liam Ryan secured the 2-0 win and saw them lift the coveted Plastic Duck Trophy!
Spain and France qualified from their group, overcoming Dublin 2 and East Europe, whilst North West Europe had to overcome Asia and North West Ireland to reach the knockout stages. Ireland South and Dublin 1 were the other qualifiers for the semi-finals but fell at the final hurdle.
In the Gold Duck competition for second placed teams in the qualifying groups, North West Ireland (captained by Kieran Spellman-Molphy and Daniel Partridge) overcame the American Continent team (captained by Nick Carswell and Jack Harrington). Finally, the Scottish Duck competition for 3rd placed teams saw a tense penalty shoot out where Leinster (captained by Matthew Barker and Sean Murphy) lost out narrowly to East Europe, led by Roko Stojanovic and Maxim Mulcahy.
