Boys' Senior team qualify for league finalThe senior boys team put the disappointment of being knocked out of the Leinster B cup quarter finals a little over a week ago behind them when the met Oatlands College in the semi final of the Southern section of the Metropolitan league. The game was played last Friday and saw Oatlands take the lead midway through the first half from a well delivered corner kick. St Kilian’s kept the deficit to the single goal until half time and changed ends of the pitch with a determination to be successful on this occasion.
The breakthrough came midway through the second half when Ethan Levins broke forward on the left wing before unleashing a powerful shot to the bottom of the corner with the Oatlands unable to do anything about it. Five minutes later, Ethan doubled his tally from an excellently delivered corner by Oscar Carruthers. Oatlands naturally responded and cranked up the pressure on the St Kilian’s defence, which had to withstand a barrage of attempts to breach it. However, it was to no avail and Hugo Heisterkamp added a third when his left footed volley nestled in the bottom corner. This leads us to the final, where we await the outcome of the other semi final between Firhouse CS and St John’s to confirm our opponents.
