Match Report

Our U13 team led by Captain Peter Simms had a great win over St. Columba’s to reach the B league semi-final. It’s a great credit to the boys as we have several primary boys in the squad who are making a huge contribution. Captain fantastic Peter Simms scored the first from a short corner from a delicious sweep out from Kilian McCoole and Peter smashed home a rocket of a shot which hit the inside of the post and shot across the goal to hit the side board. Contender for goal of the season.

Our back four Peter, Kilian, Christopher (6th Class primary) and Johann, another 6th Class boy, were rock solid and kept a clean sheet ably assisted by our excellent goalkeeper Benas. Our midfield Boyang, Thomas and Arno worked their socks off to set up Rory, Ben and Luca, another 6th Class boy. Rory got the second. He is turning into a real goal poacher. Luca got the third with an assist from Noah to seal the win. The boys are now in the B league semi-final.

Man of the Match: Luca Sauvegrain Meehan who was electric at right wing
Goal of the Match: Peter Simms who scored as near to perfection a goal as you could get, hitting the inside of one post and the ball shooting across to the other corner. Keeper never even saw it!
