Match Report
Six Gems for Hard Working MinorsOur Minor boys started the game in sensational fashion with Cian Walley scoring after 50 seconds to put us 1-0 up. Big Ben had his Hat Trick completed in the 23rd minute with a rampaging display. With goalkeeper Daniel Sheeran missing we called up Benas Vasiliauskas, our 6th Class primary keeper. Benas had a terrific game making some brill saves. At the back Louis Prehn at left back was drilling balls down the line as was Michael Brennan at right back. Mark Donovan had a very lively centre forward in his pocket while Rod McAuliff was reading the game and reacting at pace to clear danger. In midfield on the left Cian Walley closed down their right mid. Captain Jake Nourse conducted the orchestra and created the tempo for the team. Right Mid Jake Dempsey made some darting runs to create chances. Up front Ben McTiernan caused havoc with his physicality and pace. Left wing Hugh Harnett was lurking at the post for chances and Cian Griffiths gets better week by week at right wing. At half time we were 4-0 up.
In the second half we emptied the bench which gave Oisin Wynn, Nathan Raffelt-Smyth, Edward De Bono, Jonas Zimmerman, Cai Bocus, Peter Simms and Thomas O’Grady a run. Hugh Harnett got the 5th. When he got in on the back post to deflect a cross home. The 6th and final goal came from Rod McAuliff who smashed home a rocket of a shot from a short corner. Well done boys !
