Our 11th class Concern debating team – Sophie, Lia, Meadhbh and Ciara – were wonderful ambassadors for St. Kilian’s but sadly lost their quarter final debate to Rathmore Grammar School, Belfast, on 22nd March. Getting this far, the last 8 of the 120 schools in the competition and the only remaining Dublin school, is a measure of just how successful this team has been. They proposed the motion that On global development issues President Obama delivered more hope than change and argued with great skill and passion on behalf of those in the developing world. They provided a lively and engaging debate for the audience and all speakers were commended by the adjudication panel.
